IBM Storage Media is excited to announce the general availability of the IBM® 3592 Advanced Data Tape Cartridge (Type C). The Type C cartridge is available in rewriteable and WORM formats and short and long lengths.  This advanced tape cartridge has an extremely high capacity for critical data of 4 TB native, and up to 12.0 TB with 3:1 compression.  The IBM®  3592 Advanced cartridges can only be used in the IBM System Storage® TS1140 Tape Drive Model E07, this is the forth generation of the highly successful IBM 3592 Enterprise Tape Drive.   These higher capacity cartridges are designed for automation and applications such as archiving and data retention or those requiring security or audit trails.  The IBM®  3592 Advanced cartridges are supported by the encryption capability in the IBM® System Storage TS1140 tape drives. In addition, each cartridge has a Cartridge Memory feature that is designed to help enhance functionality and reliability.

        3592 Advanced Data Cartridge - JC
        3592 Advanced WORM Cartridge - JY
        3592 Advanced Economy Cartridge - JK

Like all IBM 3592 products, the 3592 Advanced cartridge is packaged in the 3592 Library Pack configuration.  The library pack consist of 4 shrink wrapped bricks of 5 cartridges.  The library pack is eco-friendly by reducing extra packing materials, it is also convenient and easy for the user to handler.
